I believe this wisdom is of greater benefit to society if it is openly shared rather than being locked away behind bars. Prolonging his time in prison will not make for a more just society. The rigid adherence to the sentence originally handed down is today a hollow and empty affair. What purpose does it serve ? The activities he was jailed for were a lifetime ago. He is not a murderer or a rapist, and through his own poignant poetic candor we know the thrill and the fire are long gone. Release a few years early seems a small mercy for one who has been in prison for so long. This man has served his time, and it has been such a very long time.
