http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/hpanalfans/ I am a fan of many of the different franchises out there-Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings et cetera- and there are always some overly picky fans for each franchise. That's a definite given. But I have never seen such a blatantly whiny and critical group of fans as the Harry Potter fan base contains. I am a member of a couple of HP groups and it's incredible the things they pick apart from book to film. Even things in the books, things thought of by the actual creator, J.K. Rowling herself, are picked to shreds until the horse is dead, bleeding and they're still poking it with a stick. One big example is when the Goblet of Fire teaser trailer was released and we see Hermione all pretty in a pink dress at the Yull Ball. I love the books as much as any other fan out there but in all honesty, the color of her dress isn't that important to the story. However, several of the fans did not share this view point. There were arguments after debates et cetera about why the designers didn't make her dress periwinkle blue (as stated in the book) instead of pink. I won't even MENTION the actual petition against Michael Gambon for not portraying Dumbledore accurately to the books in the third and fourth films. I won't EVEN mention that. So, my main point of this is to get certain large groups of HP fans to take a pill and simply enjoy the series.
