		<title>The Human Rights Amendment</title>
		<link>http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/hra/</link>
<description>Section 1. The neither Federal nor state governments shall unfairly discriminate directly or indirectly against anyone on one or more grounds, including race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, ethnic or social origin, color, sexual orientation, age, disability, conscience, culture, language and birth.

Section 2. Equality includes the full and equal enjoyment of all rights and freedoms. To promote the achievement of equality, legislative and other measures designed to advance persons, categories of persons, disadvantaged by discrimination may be taken.

Section 3 . The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

The Right wants to write discrimination into the Constitution with the Federal Marriage Amendment and to reverse legal precedent by invoking &amp;quot;Original Intent&amp;quot;. The legal gains for women, gays, the disabled, minorities, the elderly, children, and others are threatened. It is time to write into the Consitution the Civil Rights and civil liberties gains of the last fifty years.

It is time to clearly state in the United States Constitution that as a nation we are committed to the human rights and dignity of all our citizens.</description>
