Tell Loblaws to Stop Selling Live Animals

Loblaws has refused to remove their live lobster tanks from their stores, despite complaints from their customers.

Lobsters are very sensitive to their environment and the feel pain just as we do. Lobsters in store tanks are given little if any food and are never guaranteed a proper slaughter.

Loblaws claims that there is a high demand for these lobsters and that it would effect their profits by removing them from their inventory, but you can tell them otherwise. Please tell Loblaws that you never plan on buying a live lobster from their store and they should stop selling live animals immediately.

I support this petition. I saw two live crabs roughly pulled from their overcrowed tank and thrust into a tight plastic bag and sealed with a tie. They were then given to the customer as they still attempted to move their limbs inside the bag. The customer then placed these poor \"live\" creatures in the shopping cart and continued to shop in Loblaws. It was 30 Celcius outside that day and I cannot even imagine the horror of being sealed alive into a plastic bag with another living creature and left in the back of a hot vehicle. This is inhumane and should be stopped immediately.

Karma - if you boil a lobster, one day, you'll have something horribly painful happen to you, as the lobster had.

You wouldn't boil your cat, would you? Then how can you justify boiling a lobster? After all, they're both living thing and about the same level of intelligence. I know I'd NEVER boil my cat!

Cats are too sweet an cuddly, but lobsters aren't, so it's okay to boil a lobster, is that it?

I can recall walking into a seafood restaurant a couple years ago, and actually crying into the lobster tank. I had to be escorted out. They had to drain and refill the tank.

I actually have trouble sleeping at nights because the human race is so numb to these barbaric practices. I look at Fluffy (my cat) and think that he has the best life ever! Those evil humans will never be allowed to touch Fluffy! EVER!!! Poor lobsters. Poor Fluffy. I think I'm going to cry again. G'night all.

LOL!!!

I have always hated to see the lobsters in those filthy tanks, awaiting death. I don't see why thre isn't a more humane way to do this...I will NEVER buy a live lobster, and have no respect for anyone who would. PLEASE, STOP THIS BARBARIC PRACTICE.

As a person who works with fish and marine life I believe that aquatic life in captivity have it the hardest. From misinformed fish owners to Loblaws- people just don't understand the depth of their suffering. If an animal is to be eaten it is never necessary to torture them and then kill them.

consumers should be informed that lobsters stress out while living in tanks . If the tender meat of the lobster is what they are looking for then they should not buy Loblaws lobsters. For a stressed out lobster is a tough lobster. I definitely will boycott Loblaws inhumane practice.

Just imagine us being kept in a tank of air in the middle of an ocean with big lobsters poking us and saying "Mmm human"? Treat them right, or we won't treat you to our customer service.
