http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/makechangestoMySpace/ In the past few years, the popular webiste MySpace has been the target of controversy, mainly because of its reputation as a magnet for child predators. While I strongly oppose banning the website all together (that would be a ridiculous notion, seeing as to how MySpace has its good qualities as well) I would like to see changes to the site. Please sign if you agree with these: 1. Make all profiles under the age of 18 private (as in, you have to be that person's friend in order to view their profile). It is too easy for anyone to look at the profiles of underaged teenagers. 2. Make all profiles under the age of 18 have a "Person X adds only people he/she knows as friends" requirement. Too many times, people meet predators on the web based on friend requests. 3. Make the list of ages on the "classmate finder" limited to the age of 18. It is ridiculous to post what school you go to on the internet if it makes strangers find you. 4. Monitor people's activity more. Suspicious people need to be monitored. 5. Make it very hard to change your age on MySpace. If you want to change your age you must Email Tom in order to do so. Too many 37 year olds pretend to be 14 just so they can look at 14 and 15 year olds profiles. If you can think of any more ideas, please post them in your petition comments. Thank you.
