Bring Melanie Martinez back to

The PBS Kids Sprout network has fired an actress, Melanie Martinez because she appeared in two 30 second videos for technicalvirgin.com (currently inoperative) with dialogue PBS Kids Sprout called "inappropriate" that parodied teen abstinence programs.

As concerned parents we are outraged at the firing for something that was done seven years ago. We demand you reconsider you decision and give Melanie back to our children as part of the GOOD NIGHT SHOW.

Terrible decision. Freedom of creativity is important. Alternative lifestyle teaching and proper sexual education is important.

Kids are more likeky to run across Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back while channel surfing than this Melanie thing no one has even heard of. Sprout won't last with the new guy or the star, but Thomas the Tank engine will still do fine. What a stupid mistake.

This was just a stupid adult joke. I'll bet you that those same execs that fired her have told a couple off-color jokes in their day. Or perhaps have even participated in the sexual activity Melanie joked about. Give us a break and calm down Sprout. If she was never fired, no one would even know about the darn video... Melanie was the first person my baby ever watched with bliss on TV. I'll never forget the smiles Melanie would evoke from my daughter. If she doesn't return, I will have no reason to turn on PBS Sprout again. Oh well, at least Noggin has high quality programming and encourages free-thought.

I support this petition, George Carlin and Alex Baldwin don't exactly have a spotless past and I still hear them on Sprout. Don't get me wrong I've always been a fan of both of them, but firing Melanie for being in a couple of video spoofs that were clearing a joke, especially considering they occured way before the tonight show is just plain unfair...PBS can forget about my $365 annual contribution for this behavior. My kids, and my whole family misses you Melanie! Best of Luck. If you run on hard times, you can have my $365 contribution, just create a donation site.
