It sold very well in Japan, but because of poor advertising it was not so successful in the US. On 5/23/06 Monster Hunter Freedom was released for the PSP and is one of the best selling PSP games to date, and the #1 most active message board on www.gamefaqs.com, and was advertised much more than the original. The Monster Hunter fanbase is growing fast and I believe if Capcom releases Monster Hunter Dos to the United States, and did some decent advertising, it would sell sell very well.
