While Mega Man has seen several spinoff series, the most popular one being the X games, the original series of games (1 through 8) was left...unfinished. Those who have played Mega Man X4 know that Zero was created by Dr. Wily. The purpose of Mega Man 9 would be to illustrate the events leading up to the creation of Zero, and eventually, X. MM9 would conclude the original series and tie up all loose ends. There are plenty of ways the story could play out, and I believe Capcom knows this. They just need to know that there's a huge demand for MM9, and I KNOW it's there. The large picture above will direct you to an interview about the upcoming Mega Man remakes for the PSP. In that interview, Keiji Inafune (the father of Mega Man) states that MM9 is possible, but there needs to be a demand first. If you want MM9, sign this petition, and buy the PSP games.
