http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/moremoney/ Currently a single parent of one child on Social Assistance (Otherwise known as Ontario works, or mothers allowance) is entitled to appoximately $975/month, then a portion of the National Child Tax Credit is deducted from the monthly cheques. Leaving $854/month. With only $500 for rent, (and because I'm the mother of a little boy, according to Children's Aid he needs his own bedroom - you find me a one bedroom apartment, large enough for two on less then &500) -- that leaves $354 for all remaining expenses each month! This is inhumane...let's get something done, let's make our government take notice of us little people too.
