Myspace provides music videos and allows users to put videos on there profile. However, they currently only support the Internet Explorer browser. Mozilla Firefox is used by about 1 out of every four internet users (http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp). For users of Firefox, if they want to watch music videos, they must download Internet Explorer and use it solely for the purpose of watching a music video. This is an unnecisary hassle, and Myspace is the only website I visit semi-regularly that supports only one browser. It also takes up more computer memory. It is in the bands' best interest for Myspace to make videos available to a wider variety of browsers because more people will watch their videos. It is in Myspace's best interest because if the videos are watched more, than the advertizing shown at the beginning of each video will be watched more, increasing it's value. It seems everyone involved would benifit. It is illogical that myspace doesn't support other browsers to play music videos.
