Current funding is not adequate and the state is transferring a significant amount of its constitutional obligation to educate its students to local taxpayers. The state’s economy has improved; therefore we call on Governor Perdue to restore cuts imposed as “Austerity Reductions.” Maintaining these “Amended Formula Adjustments” when the state is expecting a $1 billion surplus is shameful and a disservice to our youngest citizens.
