http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/resumecommanderinchief/ BRING BACK COMANDER IN CHIEF “Commander in Chief” (CIC) was an entertaining, socially & politically relevant show, which only played for one season on ABC, despite having a significant viewer base. At one time, CIC had 8 million viewers. By the end of the first season, that viewer base had shrunk to 6.5 million .... still a significant number. COMMANDER IN CHIEF premiered: September 27, 2005, and was taken off May, 2006. According to The Media, there were production problems with not meeting script deadlines, which caused production delays. It was shown irregularly, because of these problems. The night of showing also was changed from Tues. to Thursday mid-season. It was then placed against some very popular shows like ER and WITHOUT A TRACE. The content of CIC was politically progressive and there is question as to whether this may also have been reason to cancel the show. It also showed a woman in the most powerful position in the world, President of the US. Was there political and/or corporate pressure to cancel this show? We are bringing this issue to ABC, to protest your decision to cancel COMMANDER IN CHIEF. We have so little postive and relevant TV programming, and we, the Public demand that quality programming be kept on TV. If ABC will not resume CIC, perhaps another network would be willing to do so. It is said that they show was removed partly because ABC wants to focus on teenage viewers. I am currently 16, and i know many others my age who appreciate this show, which gives its audience a lick of credit.
