If RuneScape membership was free, then what would be the point in membership? The reason they charge for membership is so that they can afford to make the game better, more interesting, and work faster. without a memberhsip fee, none of the things available to members would even exsist! they would have no money to pay programmers, no money for new servers, no money to keep current servers running!
