http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/saveoshea/ We, the people of the Westown Block Club Coalition would like to plead with the City Council, please save the Oshea Recreational Center from being closed. We feel as residents we were not notified of this proposal to close the recreational center. Please help us by signing this petition and save our recreational center. This center for years has become home to many children who do not have any where else to go after school, a place where they call home. Many children that attend Oshea recreation center can not afford to join school sports, or even have the confidence to join them. But at the recreational center they can go enjoy some basketball games, track and field and meet up with friends. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights a group of young adults and children enjoy fun times by competing in sports, learning to dance and they especially enjoy the arts and crafts. To close the gym would mean that the kids would need to find transportation,to another location or not go at all. Oshea recreation center is conventiently located for everyone to be able to come from the neighborhoods and places nearby. Please help us save our recreational center from becoming victim to closure.
