http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/slane/ To: MCD Promotions, I am writing on behalf of the ticket holders of Slane 2009 - Oasis! I would like to inform you of how extremely stressful Slane was for your customers this year! We spent more time queuing than enjoying. The queue to get into the concert was insanely long, way too packed, badly controlled and extremely unsafe. I\'ve been to Slane loads of times, and this was by far the worst, and everyone around me agreed. On average the queue from the gate to the gig was taking people over 2 hours (2 hours being herded along a narrow path, between temporary fencing.) The queue was out of control. There were no water stops, first aid or toilet facilities along this path. Due to this long stressful wait, a lot of people missed the bands they had paid to see! Inside the gig seemed understaffed, there was not enough security to control the crowds and this caused a lot of safety issues; people getting crushed into barriers, people being squashed while trying to get a pint. This was especially the case at the bar/toilet area just near the forest entrance, there was no proper barriers and the lack of security made it difficult for them to manage the large crowd. On a totally different note, from where we were standing, the sound at the gig was terrible, not loud enough and of what we could hear, sound wasn\'t even clear. Also to top it all off the walk out of the gig to the Dublin bus pick up was horrendous, guessing the walk was over 5k and took over an hour and half. Surely a nearer pickup point could have been arranged. Also people have been saying that the buses filled up and a lot of people were left stranded for hours. We believe that a refund is what we deserve. Thanks MCD and Lord Henry Mountcharles for completely ripping us off, I basically had to stand outside in a queue with people shoving & pushing, fearing for my safety, missed all the support acts. Was pushed & shoved going to the bar to be told it was closed. Had people pissing in front of me. Stood right at the back and couldn\'t hear anything because the sound was terrible there! If there was 80,000 there, which I strongly believe there were more than that, Slane obviously can\'t cater for it, or because of your greed you just didn\'t provide for us properly.
