http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/stopprozac/ Im starting this petition in co-ordination with my book, Me Myself And OCD, I was prescribed Prozac as a child having suffered from OCD from the age of 11, and it did nothing but harm. After doing further research and speaking to others who have had problems with the drug, i hereby start a petition, to stop doctors prescribing Prozac so quickly to people with OCD without specialists opinion and further consultancy. There has been many articles in the newspapers about people committing suicide worldwide that have later been found to be on the drug. including some famous press storys about a man shooting his whole family and then himself, not to mention the columbine masacre with the two teenagers going into a school and shooting the pupils, they were taking Prozac as prescribed by thier doctors. Im aiming this at the british government because they can do something about Prozac in this country, its a multi billion pound business and the company which makes the drug keeps on sweeping all the facts under the carpet. lets people with OCD should be treated firstly without drugs then only in the most extreme circumstances should Prozac or a similar drug be given to the patient, i say this out of my own personal experience having suffered with chronic OCD for over 19 years im now 28, and have written a book about treating OCD and my personal experiances with OCD and Prozac, please sign for the good of man and mediciene and stop companys making a profit out of societys mental patients. it was too good to be true. Prozac, the wonderdrug hailed as the answer to the war against depression and OCD and taken by some 37 million people worldwide, is not as harmless as we've been led to believe. I totalled my truck, flew into hysterics over a fender bender and generally drove like I was invincible. Prozac and other anti-depressants are dangerous and useless.
