Release Superman IV Sidney J. Furie Director's...

Dear Warner Brothers:

We the people DEMAND that you release a fully-restored Sidney J. Furie director's cut of the lost classic Superman IV. In its current form, the film is a travesty. It's an insult to one of the greatest directors of our time. We're talking about the director of Iron Eagle! Over 45 MINUTES of footage was cut because YOUR studio system SCREWED THE MOVIE! Over-reliance on test screenings brought about the demise of the original Superman film series. Obviously those who scored the movie negatively were paid off by other studios to do so in an effort to SABOTAGE Mr. Furie and his career! Just look at what was cut after the test screenings:

Original version (shown only in test screenings in Southern California) ran 134 minutes and helped to tie up the loose ends all subsequent versions left hanging, including the first Nuclear Man, the relationship between Lacy and Clark, and the fate of the kid Jeremy. After a disasterous preview, it was cut to the theatrical length of 89 minutes.

No wonder the movie bombed! That stuff was essential! WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KID JEREMY! Clean up your act, Warner, and release this lost classic in a restored (preferably by Lowry Digital), remastered, uncut DVD edition with Mark Pillow commentary. Thank you.

Superman IV, the theatrical Cut, is a badly edited hack of a movie. Perhaps if we were to see a fuller, more cohesive film, than it might be a bit better. If a director&amp;amp;amp;#039;s cut of Superman IV was to be made available, I would definitely reevaluate it. Please give all of the movie going public the chance to see this film in a better cut. Thanks.

I support this petition since the film should be seen as it was meant to be seen. There is a directors cut for Supergirl, so why not Superman IV. The DVD would most definitely sell.

I support this petition because the film should be seen as it was meant to be seen. If we can have a directors cut for Supergirl. We can certainly have a Furie directors cut. It definitely will sell.
