WalMart Fish Education

No matter what WalMart you go to, it is not uncommon to walk into their fish section and see mistreated fish. Some fish are not ment to be kept together and others are just sick, but not separated (which causes the others to get sick). Of course, some WalMarts are very good with their fish, but others, well, just speak for themselves! I think the main problem is education. I am experienced with fish of all sorts and have just no more room to rescue the fish at WalMart! Please help me and sign this petition. I want to either STOP WalMart selling fish, or at least get them to let me come in and educate about proper fish caring.

It&#39;s disgusting to see the way these fish are treated. They&#39;re living things too, and WalMart is abusing them. Either stop selling them, or learn to take care of them.

I agree that Wal Mart does not take care of their fish! It&#39;s so unfortunate and they have no right to torture animals.

walmart should definately stop selling fish, OR upkeep on the bowls/ tanks ect. everytime i&#39;m in WalMart, there&#39;s dead fish in the tanks, & the living fish are eating the dead ones. then, when people buy the fish, they have diseases and don&#39;t live but MAYBE 2 days.

I feel that Wal-Mart should either stop selling fish considering the poor conditions they are housed in prior to selling. Or at least become educated on proper care and clean up the facilities and take better care of the fish.

maybe an alternative for them to still &quot;make their money&quot; would be to have the fish ordered. this could stop &quot;implusive shopping&quot;, and save many fish&#39;s lives!

I WILL DEFINATELY SIGN THIS RIGHT NOW. i will also be writing walmart about my experience in their store. for so many years i have passed by the fish section not really stopping to look because i&#39;m not a fish person. little did i know everytime i walked by it was a death trap for poor innocent beautiful fish! YES FISH ARE ANIMALS TOO and they need PROPER care. some people have lost pets so in return people gave them a pet, and i was in there shopping for my new pet and i saw 5 betta tinny cups with nasty nasty water, and when i found someone to tell he replied &quot;they come from the vendor&quot;. so does this mean they come from the vendor, sit on the shelf and suffer until their death? how is that humane. WALMART I AM BOYCOTTING YOU ALWAYS AND STILL WILL UNTIL YOU STOP SELLING FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fish are commonly sold in pet stores and wal mart as a way to lure customers into the store. Even the people who aren't there to buy fish often look "just to look" and then decide on impulse to buy a betta, goldfish, or tank.

it is very sad that these fish are used to entice impulse sales. they are living things, and when you buya living creature, you should only do it when you are well educated about the cost and proper care of the animal.

to buy a pet on implse means that the owner has no real clue what they are doing. Not only does this lead to the cruel treatments and possible death of the pet, but it also leads to a frustrated customers who think that fish keeping is too hard to atempt.

it's very sad that walmart views a living creature as a way to drive impulse sales.

even though the brands that wal mart sellas are name brand or on par with name brands, you should not buy from them.

boycott the enitre department.

they sell poor quality pet foods.

they sell flea treatments that when improperly used can cause pet death.

they sell hartz mountain products which are known to be highly toxic and low quality.

to buy from walmart is to provide inadequate care to all your pets.

The few fish that I have bought from Walmart in the past have ALL been diseased and have spread infections to the rest of my fish. As much as I am happy I have rescued some Walmart fish I will never again buy fish or fish products from Walmart. Instead of housing dying and diseased fish to sell to unsuspecting customes, (not to mention the poor fish that suffer at the hands of uneducated Walmart employees), Walmart should get out of the live fish business and put a stop to the mistreatment of these animals.

Please do not buy fish at Walmart. They are often diseased. Request that Walmart get rid of their livng fish and keep with their non-living fish products because Walmart still outcompetes other aquarium supply stores in their low prices and name-brand quality.

I'm glad I found this petiton by accident. Just 2 weeks ago I was going to buy my little boy a fish from Wal-mart but they looked too sickly. Those poor fish. It is ridiculous how they are treated and noone was around to even ask about the fish. Leave these and other pets to be sold by qualified pet stores please.

Fishes should not be treated as commodities in the first place. To breed/capture, transport, and sell living, feeling beings to the first person to show up with money in their wallets is an injustice. To cause many of them to die prematurely and survivors to endure horrific conditions and suffer immensely is unjustifiably unethical in my book.
