Laurie Caskey-Schreiber, Carl Weimer, Bob Kelly and Seth Fleetwood voted in favor, with Ward Nelson, Barbara Brenner and Sam Crawford opposed. People of Whatcom County are losing their jobs at alarming rates! There is no way this should have passed. With property taxes sky-rocketting, it seems that those taxes are what will be funding this terraquarium case study. That's right, this is $600,000 for only a preliminary case study! There is no guarantee that after the money is handed out that we would ever see this terraquarium. Not that it matters because this is not what our money should be spent on! I am calling for a cease of this project and the funds to conduct the study. This is a complete waste in a desperate time. Furthermore, I am calling for the immediate resignation of Laurie Caskey-Schreiber, Carl Weimer, Bob Kelly, and Seth Fleetwood...the four members who voted in favor of this project. I feel that a decision like this leaves me to feel that we are to have no confidence in their future decision making.
