Of the thousands upon thousands of women that are abused here in Toronto (my home city), the city has a grand total of 24 beds for women that have left their homes because their husbands abused them. That's right - 24 FLEE INFESTED BEDS for the dozens of thousands of women that are abused each year. Many of you may wonder why you should sign this when you don't live in Toronto. Here's all I can say - there are too many women abused every year for this to be an issue that can be adressed to both the federal government of the US and Canada. But by taking one small step at a time, we can make a big difference.
