Yugioh is not as bad as how you made it to be, not even the dub. Okay, an anime about a card game may seem a bit silly. But, it's not about the card game. That is just used in the show as a medium for the true story: the story of the Pharaoh. The first series (didn't get dubbed) didn't even use the card game except for a few one-off episodes. Basically what I'm saying is this - before you listen to people like this who have probably never even seen an episode, watch the Orichalcos and Pharaoh's Memories arcs (Waking the Dragons and Dawn of the Duel in the dub, respectively).
